Taking the Spice Route

In a follow-up to the article I wrote about twins Ray Anderson of Nuestra Cucina and David Anderson of Vindalho, consummate PR person Lindsey McBride has just sent over the roster of cooking classes that David will be offering this spring.

The classes will be covering three of India's main culinary traditions based on David's travels in the country and the extensive research and testing he does in developing his recipes.
  • Mar. 16: Bengali Cuisine of Calcutta. 4-7 pm.
  • Apr. 13: Parsi Cooking of Bombay, 4-7 pm.
  • May 18: Tropical Food of Sri Lanka, 4-7 p.m.
Each monthly class will feature the cooking of one region and will include dinner and selected wine and beer pairings. Class size is limited to twelve and each student will receive recipes, a recommended reading list plus tips on sourcing ingredients. I can tell you that he loves sharing his passion for this cuisine and you'll definitely learn a lot (and maybe even have fun in the process)!

Details: Spring Cooking Classes at Vindalho. Cost is $75 per person per class, including food, beverage and gratuity. Call for information or to register. Vindalho, 2038 SE Clinton St. Phone 503-467-4550.
